Teddy With Flowers

aNew release day for Doodle Palace digital images, this week there are two new images, "Teddy w/ Flowers" and "Easter Tree"

I used the cute Teddy w/ Flowers image, he is so sweet, I just love his cute little "x" where his belly button is.

I printed the image approx. 3" high x 3 1/4" wide and used colored pencils to add color, then cut out the teddy bear using scissors.

The box and flower were cut using the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cricut cartridge. The shopping bag is on page 115, I have a Cricut expressions and used the "fit to page" feature which cut the bag 5 3/4". The flower is on page 107 and I used the blackout feature cut at 3 1/2"
The finished box size measures 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" including the handle.
To view more projects using the "Teddy w/ Flowers" and "Easter Tree" digital images, check out what the Doodle Palace Princesses have made Here.

Thank you for coming to visit my blog today.

Spring Showers

This card is one I designed specifically from the given sketch. One of my favorite Cicut cartridges is A Child's Year, I just love the silhouette images. This sweet little umbrella girl is found on page 34 of the booklet.

This is the sketch from Twisted Sketches
the additional twist was to use something transparent.

My card is transparent, and the raindrop, which was cut from A Child's Year as was the word "spring" I used design studio to weld the word together.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #001 -Balloon Shaped Card

Today is the day! Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog is having their very first challenge and the design team has created amazing projects for you to get inspiration from.

Our first challenge is to include a word and shape on your project:
the word is "Birthday"
the shape is a "Balloon"

Here is the card I made for the challenge. A balloon shaped card with layered party hat, and stars. I used the Celebrations Cricut cartridge for all images.

A simple Design Studio cut file available at the end of this post.

I tied the balloon using organdy ribbon but wanted to give it more of a curly effect.

Using my heat tool, I carefully waved it over the ribbon and the ribbon began to melt. The melting process happens very quickly so make sure the heat is not held on the ribbon to long.
I got just the look that I wanted for a curly balloon string effect.
I used tons of pop-dots to pop the pieces off the card.

Sweetest Little Turtle Girl

This is the sweetest little turtle costume girl that I've ever seen!
Two new images to be released today at Doodle Palace Digital Stamps. This image is "Chibi Girl -Turtle" the second image not shown on my blog is "Bear on Trike" he is adorable you'll just have to take a look.

I used a paper piecing technique for this little girl.
I printed this image 4 times, once on white cardstock, then on two green patterned papers, and the fourth on pink (just so I could cut out the cute flower).

I colored the face and center of the flower using colored pencils. Then cut out the turtle costume and a circle where her sweet face is and with the green grass patterned paper I cut out the belly, hands (mittens), and the tail, but it's so tiny it may be hard to see it.
I used the Cuttlebug "Tiny Mosaic Texture" embossing folder on the solid pink paper. And because it has a white core I was able to give it a light sanding on the top of the squares so the white could show through.

To see more creations and get inspired using "Chibi Girl -Turtle" and the "Bear on Trike" digital stamp, go check out what the Doodle Palace Princesses have created HERE, and remember to click on the names above the project to view the designers blog.

Wild Card #25 - Flower

A very simple yet lovely card. This is wild card #25, it can be found on page 56 of the wild card booklet.
Circled in red are the images that were cut for this card.
Each image was cut at 4 3/4"

Using the smaller flowers I layered them using the three different patterned papers, then added a small jewel in the center of the flower.
This is the envelope closed and the inside of the flower card.
I used the extra flowers to decorate the back side of the card.

Bear w/ Lamb & Chicks

Hooray.... for new digital images at Doodle Palace, wait til you see the adorable digi images today, both are so cute. The two new images are "Bear with Lamb and Chicks" and "Where the Easter Bunny Lives"
Here is Bear with Lamb and Chicks.
I used a fixative spray on my printed digital image before coloring, so I could use markers to color this image without my printer ink smearing. It turned out so sweet, I added ribbon and a mary jane shoe charm.
Come see more creations from the Doodle Palace design team using these two digital images.

Wild Card #24 -Porthole Love You

I love to see how using different patterned paper changes the whole look of a card, from the one shown in the booklet. This is wild card #24 found on page 55 of the wild card booklet.

Here are the images circled in red that I cut for this card, notice I cut the phrase "I love you" twice, also the blackout feature card image was flipped before cutting.

All images were cut at 5 1/2" (I do not use the real dial size feature) The square image was cut using my paper trimmer at 1 1/4", this was used behind the hole as shown in the photo below.

This is the view of the inside of the card. I covered the porthole on the card using the square image. Then covered the square using the flipped blackout card image. I decided to cut the "I" off of the phrase leaving "love you", then layered the red over the black cardstock.

A closer look at the lovely squiggle icon feature.
Remember to continue following my Wild Card series, and become a follower.
